Last week, from 13-15th of February the “VIII International Course on Mechanical Circulatory Support” organized by Hospital de Bellvitge, took place in Barcelona.

The aim of the course was the dissemination and exchange of the state-of-the-art knowledge of mechanical circulatory support’s indications, management and outcomes. The course stressed on long duration circulatory support devices as those have experienced a usage increase in the last few years in Spain.

In Cardiolink, we collaborated on this course, remaining committed to surgical and medical trainings. In particular, Dr. Francesc Gordó, Medical Director in Cardiolink, collaborated as a speaker on the “Mechanical Circulatory Support latest news” talk, where he introduced Jarvik 2000®, our non-pulsatile axial-flow left ventricular assist device (LVAD). A workshop on this device followed on Saturday.
