The first Glubran Interventional Club (GIC) official event took place on the 16th of December in Madrid. This meeting, which was attended by more than 20 interventional radiologists from Spain, focused on the endovascular use of cyanoacrylate glues (liquid embolising agent).

The scientific program delved into the current knowledge of cyanoacrylate use in interventional radiology, while it also left room for an open dialogue and for sharing clinical experience. In particular, the meeting was initiated by Dr. Urbano (Hospital U. Ramón y Cajal), whom explained the main differences of the distinct cyanoacrylates which are approved for endovascular use. Consecutively, Dr. Sampere (Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol), and Dr. Loffroy (CHU Dijon) explained in detail the specific clinical indications of Glubran® 2 and the embolization with this agent from a technical perspective. Dr. Zurera (H.U. Reina Sofía de Córdoba) concluded the scientific program describing some medical complications that may occur when using cyanoacrylates and how to prevent them.

This first GIC event, organized by Cardiolink with the backing of GEM, is the first one of a series of scientific events that will take place during this 2020. Incoming events will be announced on this website. Stay tuned!
