It can not be operated if external conditions, such as lighting in the surgical field, are not enough. So far, the solutions to this problem have been the use of central lamps in the operating room, which did not serve much when the surgeons themselves become shadow to see where to intervene, and the frontal lights, which gave better illumination to the field but it was difficult to keep the light fixed in the same area of the surgery.

That is why a team of surgeons at the Germans Trias y Pujol Hospital, led by doctors Joan Francesc Julián and Jordi Navinés, created a device that adapts to surgical instruments and improves lighting during operations, called Rutilight®. Last Friday the 28th, all the surgical services were presented with the great advantage that it brings in the deepest areas of the surgical field and success was assured. The versatility of the product makes it a very useful device for different surgical specialties, from general and digestive surgery, thoracic, gynecology, pediatric or plastic surgery, among others.
