DAFODIL TM

Bovine Pericardial Bioprosthesis

Dafodil™ Pericardial Bioprosthesis’ scientifically modelled and bioengineered design is intended to optimize implantability, hemodynamics and durability.

Dafodil™ Pericardial Bioprosthesis is comprised of leaflets made from bovine pericardial tissue, a frame and a sewing ring. The frame is comprised of a polymer ring (support ring), PET film structures (posts or commissures) and a frame made of Elgiloy alloy wireform. These three components of frame are covered with polyester fabric. The frame is designed to be compliant at the orifice and commissures. A sewing ring made from polyester fabric is attached to the covered frame. Three contrasting markings are located on this sewing ring. These markings aid in proper orientation for implantation of the prosthesis.

Indications: Dafodil™ Pericardial Bioprosthesis is indicated for use in patients whose valvular disease is sufficiently advanced to warrant replacement of their natural valve with a prosthetic one. It is also intended for use in patients with a previously implanted aortic valve prosthesis which is no longer functioning adequately and requires replacement. In the latter case, the previously implanted prosthesis is surgically excised and replaced by the replacement prosthesis.
