Now it is possible to protect the patient from risks associated with central venous catheters. Our CVCs have the unique Multi-Tube™ technology, which allows to have several lights without having to reduce the size or flow rate, with LuerSafe® connectors to reduce the risk of infections and air embolisms and colour-coded Lumens to avoid accidents of administration.

In addition, the PROACTIVE+ HP range offers a high-pressure line for contrast medium or other medications that require a different line, and an antimicrobial and antithrombogenic barrier to minimize catheter infections.

Central venous catheters are indicated for use in attaining access to the central venous system, and are used for the purpose of:

• administration of vasoactive/inotropic drugs,
• administration of incompatible medications,
• administration of hypertonic solutions including total parental nutrition,
• frequent blood sampling,
• blood transfusion,
• measurement of central venous pressure (CVP),
• power injection of contrast media – Altius HP pressure resistant catheters ONLY.
